This quilt was such a fun scrap buster and used up plenty of leftover charm squares and smaller scraps. Even the batting was assembled from scraps!
For the quilting, I did a basic meander with a few loops thrown in for fun. I struggled a bit in the beginning with the needle falling out. Thankfully, my machine wasn't damaged. The problem corrected itself. I'm still not sure if it was a faulty needle or not installed correctly or (most likely) I was being too aggressive in how I was moving the quilt under the needle.
This will be a donation quilt through my guild. I hope to finish up the binding soon.
I love the photograph of the quilt glowing outside. I've had a needle fall out before, too, and I'm pretty sure it was installation error on my part. I'm glad it didn't keep happening or damage you or the machine!
ReplyDeleteLovely Patty & a great use of scraps, which I have mountains of. The outdoor photo is great and like Yvonne, I've had needles come out & luckily it doesn't usually do any damage to the machine. Oh, those binding clips...........I use 4 pins as I handsew the binding down & just keep moving them along. I do have some of those clips which came as freebies with a magazine. Thanks for showing the quilt, take care & hugs from down under.
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy and colorful looking quilt. It will sure make someone very happy :) xo
ReplyDeleteI have a binding project in line too, but my OMG is yet another UFO to be completed. I love the block in your scrappy quilt!
