Back in early December, Charles @feltlikesweets led a workshop on his Tilted Tiles pattern - see my post about the class and my blocks.
The pattern for the full quilt is available for MQG members. For the class, we made blocks for a wall hanging. I downsized mine so it finishes at 18" x 18". (The class is awesome - Charles is such a great teacher.)
The quilting was done with my walking foot, changing thread color as I went along to add interest.
Since I downsized the quilt blocks, there weren't many useable scraps left but what there were went on the back.
This was so much fun to make - may need to make another in a different colorway!
This looks awesome. I love the designs and the colors!
ReplyDeleteTurning workshop class blocks into smaller makes like this wall hanging is such a smart idea. It's bright and fun! Congratulations on another lovely finish.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely recognizable with the same blocks that are in my bigger version. Love your color combo, and your matchstick quilting, which I have yet to try. Well, I'm sure I haven't tried it because I most often make big quilts, and can't imagine the weight that matchstick quilting would add. It's perfect on your smaller-sized quilt.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun, actually; like the quilting color changes.
ReplyDeleteLovely small version! I am doin his class at QuiltCon and am already very excited - just picked and order the fabrics ;) Curious what colors you will pick if you do another one. xo
