Best looking design wall ever!
Typically my design wall is covered by bits and pieces from a bunch of projects in flight but right now, it is filled with these incredible cute animals.
These animals are from Elizabeth Hartman's Delightful Desert pattern and will become a baby quilt. This is a commissioned quilt and they were interested in this specific colorway.
This pattern is fun and easy to follow with pictures that make the assembly process very clear. Her pattern assigns specific FQs - you work with 6 of them for a baby sized quilt - to various pieces of the quilt assembly. I followed the patterns color choices very specifically but found the quilt was reading too yellow. Like this yellow deer - it just wasn't speaking to me.
So I redid the deer in a different colors and replaced some of the vegetation with a green print in a few places. This gal is just so much cuter - just look at those eyelashes!
Now I am very happy with the color balance - I just love this quilt!
Here are the fabrics I'm using - although the green print isn't in the photo: 3 prints from Elizabeth's Terrarium fabric line and paired solids from Painter's Palette - Pencil Yellow, Paprika, Bronze, Wasabi and Beige.
Have a wonderful day! Patty

Coconut Cross - Clementine QAL Block 4
Block 4 in Fat Quarter Shop's Clementine QAL is called Coconut Cross and I'm excited to be one of the bloggers who gets to share their blocks today. (Click to see more about my prior blocks.)
I really enjoy this block and love the way it is set. These are four 12'' blocks.
And then the small one for this month.
Here are all the large blocks so far. I am loving this grouping of the large ones. Not sure what my final setting will be.
And the small ones.
I do need to think through my fabric pulls for month 5 and 6 given what I used so far.
I've chosen Moda Creekside for my blocks - the fabrics below plus a few others from my stash.
Fat Quarter Shop's Clementine QAL benefits St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Quilters are encouraged to donate $5 for each block pattern. I really love how the FQS QALs support a different charity each year. If you love the fabrics in the sample quilt, you can order the kit!
You can ready more about the QAL and get the latest block pattern today on the Jolly Jabber and read more about the Clementine QAL. There is also a youtube video on the block!
I am happy to be sharing this QAL blog hop with all these other bloggers - go check them out!

One Monthly Goal - April Finish Link-up
Ready to link up your April finishes?
Don't panic - this link-up is open until April 30 at 11:55 pm ET.
My goal for April was to piece my quilt top using Alison Glass Sunprint 2018 fabric. The solid I used is a Painter's Palette Gray. While it may not look like it in this photo, this quilt will be square - 64 x 64''. Now onto some straight line quilting!
Please only link up if you finished your goal and if you also participated in the April Goal Setting Link-up.
There will be three winners this month - Fat Quarter Shop is offering a $25 gift certificate, Make Modern Magazine is offering a 6 month subscription to their digital magazine and Violet Craft is offering a copy of one of her patterns. In addition, anyone linking up at both the goal and finish link-ups earns a point towards the second quarter bonus prize which is a fat-eight bundle of fabric from Green Fairy Quilts.
Visit the One Monthly Goal event page for the specific requirements for links and social tags.
And remember, to be eligible for the prize(s) by random drawing you must linkup at both the goal setting and the accomplishment linkup in a given month. (April Goal Setting Link-up.)
Make sure you add a link to this OMG post so others can follow where you are linking. Let's make that easy - just paste this into your post:
Sign up to receive email notifications when the One Monthly Goal linkup is open. Think of it as a helpful reminder! Joining the link-up from Instagram -see the tutorial.
Congratulations to Mary, Judy & Sharon - our randomly chosen winners for April.
Winners were notified by email. (updated May 2)
