School Colors
My niece is off to her freshman year of college this fall and I wanted to send her off in style. Her school colors blue and yellow-gold. While the fabrics I choose don't really map to the proper shade of blue or yellow-gold, they make me happy when I look at them together.
And the gift made her happy too.
I love making this boxy bag for gifts. See my post on tips for making these bags here and here.
Have a wonderful day! Patty

She's going to love that bag! I'll check out your tutorial, thanks!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Bag It. I fell down the zipper hole a couple years ago. For our guild Santa's Workshop, I figured out a way to get 4 zippered bags out of a Fat Quarter sandwich. A boxy bag like this one, a pyramid pouch, a flat smaller pouch and a mini boxy bag. Used overcast inside seams. I will try this method and see if it is faster. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteI was gifted a zipper bag much like this when I went to college and I still use it today for when I travel. I hope your niece has a wonderful freshman experience, and I'm sure the pouch will help her feel grounded and loved when she uses it (the one I received sure makes me feel that way even today)!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I need to start making more small quilty gifts like this. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAlways love to see your quilty gifts, this is a very cute bag and I bet she will really enjoy using it. I have a couple of these bags I tote about with my sewing supplies in them and I really love that you can fit so much inside and yet the zip allows full access to the contents!
ReplyDeleteLoved. I made one for grandson for Christmas. I hope he will use.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this years Bag it
One of my favorite bags to make! She'll love it! This is my go to Bag when I need a boy/man gift. With just the right fabric, it's perfect. I find it so difficult to sew for the male species!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift for college. We take our girl to college next Wednesday. I'm sad for us, happy for her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift! I love the colours.
