My nephew and his wife just had their third child - a little girl - to go along with their two boys. I've made quilts for each of the boys so my new great-niece absolutely needed on of her very own.
I used the Little Llama pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. The fabric used to make the llamas was leftover from making the quilt for her older brother. (The photo above is true to the fabric color.)
My youngest crocheted a sweet blanket for the baby and a fun hippo rattle. (You can see the hippo in that first photo.)
They do such beautiful work!
The quilt finished at 40" x 44" and the blanket is 26" square.
Oh, that is beautifully coordinated work that you and you youngest created to gift to your great-niece. It's so fun to be able to wrap new little ones in love this way!!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty, your quilt and the blanket is so lovely. They will be greatly appreciated and used! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable ensemble of pretty handmade pieces! The quilt is so cute. Who knew llamas could be so adorable?! I'm impressed with the crochet too. Your child made that?! How wonderful! Perhaps the two of you made your Granny squares at the same time? Well, the blanket LOOKS like the same design, but perhaps I'm wrong. And a hippo rattle too. How sweet. That makes me think of the crocheted amirugumi animals I've seen. I want to learn/try making a teddy bear.
