Succulents Mini Quilt

Happy New Year!

My first quilt finish for 2020!  And, in fact, the entire quilt from start to finish was this year - this project jumping in front of the line.

The Succulents quilt finishes at 14'' square and used scraps.  In fact, the green cactus on the right was made from a random single jelly roll strip of ombre fabric.   The pattern is Greenhouse by Elizabeth Hartman (affliate link).  The blocks went together quickly!

I briefly considered doing quilting unique to each piece and matching color but my favorite straight line quilting finish won out.  It is (relatively) fast, no threads to bury and I just love the way it looks.

This mini is actually a very late Christmas gift.  I decided a happy surprise in the mail will make up for the Christmas season miss.

Happy New Year!

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  4. Hi Patty! Ooh-la-la! I adore the straight-line quilting but not as much as the design and the fabrics you chose. Quilting is supposed to enhance not overtake, IMHO, so all of your choices are perfect!! Love it! ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. Rally cute. How to quilt always perplexes me. The straight line quilting you chose works very well with this quilt.
