I am not really a yellow kind of person.
Not something you'd realize looking at my Instagram feed where I've been sharing a block daily. My daughter has claimed this quilt. She is busy repainting her room a shade of gray. I've got an awesome block setting in mind that will bring in some gray negative space to balance out the yellow.
My favorite block so far might be number 2 because of the two elephants. I also like #10 (no yellow) or #12. Which is your favorite?
For my project, I am using this FQ bundle of Pastel Pop by Michael Miller which was sitting in my stash. These fabrics are the ONLY yellow I've got in my stash other than a bit in a solid.

Have a wonderful day! Patty
Those elephants in block 2 are very sweet, and I think #12 might be my current favorite. There are some great blocks here, so it's hard to pick, though. I really like this bundle you are using and think it will make a very cohesive quilt when all the blocks are made. I look forward to watching this grow and seeing how you plan to set them all together!
ReplyDeleteI actually love those blocks! There's something about yellow, gray, and black together that really appeals to me. I can understand your daughter claiming that quilt!
ReplyDeleteGoing to be a beautiful quilt. Your daughter was smart to claim this, it's going to look great with her grey room.
ReplyDeleteI love #2 with the elephants, #12 and #15. I'm doing this QAL as well and using black, grey, low volume and pink, but seeing your yellows I wish I had enough yellows to do one too. I'm having lots of fun, and don't tell anyone, but I've cut my blocks through #50, and hope to get them all sewed this weekend. I like being prepared. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! The elephants are very fun. I can see why your daughter has already laid claim to these blocks.
ReplyDeleteI believe 18 is my current fave but, then,I am a yellow person...
ReplyDeletePatty, Your quilt start is Fabulous! Yellow is one of my favorite colors.. Brighter The Better... My whole house, inside and out... yellow siding, yellow walls... But nothing else is yellow??? hmmm. figure that one out. I guess I needed balance too.
ReplyDeleteLove all your yellow blocks...a little bit of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteYou could have fooled me. The blocks look great. Your daughter is very clever to have claimed the quilt already.

I love the fabric in number 9. So many great blocks, it is hard to choose.
