It's all about the geese!
I made 140 of the 324 flying geese blocks I'll need for the wedding quilt in honor of my nephew and soon to be niece.
This is the block which finishes at 8''. I'm planning a block layout of 9 x 9. This means 81 blocks, 4 geese per block - hence the geese math.
I need an equivalent amount of the rectangle with the triangle edge (not sure what to call that). I've got 138 of those done. (Why not the same as the flying geese? Two of the squares sacrificed themselves by getting caught up in some quilting for a mini quilt when I didn't do a good enough job cleaning up my sewing space. I didn't unpick, left them there to add interest to the back!)
This is a 8 x 8 block version of where I am heading although I may actually have a few white only blocks in there.
Fabric is the yummy blueberry park.
Making all the geese blocks and the rectangle with triangle (whatever you call that) blocks is my goal for June. I'll be linking up with OMG here at Red Letter Quilts.
Also linking up with Fort Worth Studio, Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Sew She Can, Finish Up Friday, Thank Goodness It is Finished Friday, and Off the Wall Friday.
And the other side of my quilt with the 'artistic' backing is my mini quilt as part of my new QAL called repeat. You can find more information here including the sponsor announcement!
Have a wonderful day!
