Briar Rose

Happy dance!

My quilt Briar Rose is in the just released issue 27 of Make Modern Magazineavailable today, March 8!  Make Modern Magazine is a digital magazine and it is so fun to browse through the issue on my ipad.

Briar Rose, a modern interpretation of a Crown of Thorns block, was designed as an entry for the Michael Miller challenge at QuiltCon.  I was thrilled to see the quilt hanging and just love the fact that now the pattern is published in this issue.  (Read more about the quilt hanging in QuiltCon.)

It was quilted with a favorite go-to spiral and then I added some hand quilting to add more interest and texture to the rose and some of the leaves.

It would look great in all different colors - I'm tempted to make a version with a yellow rose!

The ladies at Make Modern are just fabulous to work with and it is a thrill to be part of Issue 27!

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  4. Congratulations once again Patty on the publication of another pattern. It looks great! I've not yet opened my issue, as I'm just browsing my emails first & yours popped up. I said I'd have another one ready, but have been a bit slack lately. It was Issue 23 where your first & my first for the magazine appeared, so I must get myself into gear & get another one done. Have a lovely weekend & take care.
