Mini Charm Chocolates QAL

I love making a quilt with mini charms.  You get to have fun playing with fabric and checking out a new fabric line without spending lots of money!

Fat Quarter Shop has a new free pattern available for this fun Mini Charm Chocolates quilt.  (Isn't that a great name for a quilt pattern?  Anything with the word chocolate in it is going to be good!)

The pattern is available in several different sizes and I choose to make mine baby sized.   My quilt finishes at  30 x 38'' and used three mini charms of Bonnie & Camille's A Good Life.

This quilt was quick and fun to assemble.  I choose a gray print from the same fabric line for the backing and binding.

I had great fun with the FMQing - doing these spirals and echoing around things.

A beautiful day at a local park provided a great opportunity for a photo shoot.

Bag Testing

Each year, I like to make small bags to give a bunch of ladies in my life, including my sisters and my daughter's teachers.  Some of these bags have proven to be well loved and others (likely) missed the mark.

What to make this year?  Here is my first test bag.   I'm trying to decide if the zipper overhangs need to be longer and would really appreciate your thoughts.

I like to put these all together assembly line style and am motivated to get started!

Bag It Featured Designer - Sew Sweetness

Isn't this just a darling bag?  The pattern is the medium sized Kismet Trinket Box designed by Sew Sweetness.

I'm thrilled to introduce you to Sara Lawson, designer of the Kismet Trinket Box and the owner of Sew Sweetness.   Sara has patterns available for many bags and also carries supplies for bags in her shop.  I am very excited about her new line of videos which take you step by step through many of her popular patterns.  These patterns with videos would be helpful to anyone making one of her patterns.

Sara began designing bags in 2011.  She has published two books - Big City Bags and Windy City Bags as well as been published in several magazines.  Sara has designed two fabric lines and has a Craftsy class called  Building Better Bags: Interfacing and Structure.
