QuiltCon Together Swap

QuiltCon Together is happening is just a few weeks.  Since I wanted to add a bit of extra fun to this virutal event, I signed up for my first ever MQG sponsored swap.

My quilt was inspired by Nicholas @quiltfromtheattic.  He ran a QAL via IG last year and I wanted to give it a try.  Since my swap partner seemed to like Alison Glass and I just happened to have lots of little scraps, I had everything I needed to put this together.

It was fun to see the triangles come together on my design board.  I quilted it using my walking foot.  My mini finished at 13'' x 15''.

In return, I got this wonderful quilt from Brianna.  I really love the design.  She did an amazing job putting it together. She used blues - my favorite color.  Thanks Brianna!

This was a really fun swap.  I love that both Brianna and I finished our quilts early.  Hers arrived here first right as I was attaching the binding.  I got mine in the mail the next day.  (And, I wouldn't allow myself to open her package until mine was in the mail to her!  It was worth waiting for!)

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  1. They are both wonderful, but your triangles with lots of color really sing to me.

  2. How fun for both of you! The timing of it couldn't have been better, and the quilts you swapped are both wonderful! Since seeing Nicholas's improv triangles quilt at QC last February, I've want to make one myself. But as other projects take precedence, I just keep admiring that style. I'm happy you decided to join the swap, 'cause it looks like you're both winners.

  3. What fun quilt con swaps! I love your triangles and the Rothko-like stripes you received. Hooray for people who are on time.

  4. Both minis are fantastic. I hope that she enjoys the one you made her as much as you clearly appreciate the one you received. :)

  5. I really love both of these minis and am very glad I got to see them. The fabric textures for the background of the triangle quilt is so effective. I love the way the triangles in Brianna's quilt seem to emphasize the calmer straight blocks below.
