Book Club Hand Pieced QAL Sponsors

We are very excited by the response to our new hand piecing QAL called Book Club.  The pattern went on sale on Monday and the response has been wonderful.  We can't wait for everyone to get started making their blocks and learning new skills.  (Still need to get your pattern - read more here.)

Choosing fabrics for a quilt is a lot of fun.  For my quilt - Glorious Golds - I choose the Decostitch line by Art Gallery Fabrics.  Art Gallery Fabrics provided the fabric for both Kristin and I to use for the QAL.

I was really pleased on how wonderful the fabric felt while hand piecing - it has a soft and silky feel.   I absolutely love the Decostitch line and it was hard to choose which colors to use in each block - they were all so beautiful.

Hand piecing, learning new skills, playing with fabric are all good reasons to join the Book Club QAL.  Our wonderful sponsors have provided a bit of extra incentive to help motivate you through your stitching!!!

To earn an entry in the random drawing to win a prize, hand piece a quilt block and share a photo.  You can share via your blog, Instagram, Flickr or even Pinterest.  Once you share your photo, you add it to the link-up that we will be hosting on our blogs.  (Sharing a photo in a blog link-up.)

Each link-up will be open for one week - Friday to Friday - and any block shared that week earns you an entry.  This means you can fall behind and share several blocks at once, each earning you a chance to win.  But please only enter a specific block once - duplicate entries will be disqualified.

Book Club - A Hand Pieced QAL Pattern is now available

Are you excited to start hand piecing? 

The pattern for Book Club for the Hand Pieced QAL is now available!  (Did you miss the QAL announcement?  You can find more information here!)

For this year's Hand Pieced QAL, we are making the quilt pattern available as a PDF download for a fee of $10. 

Each week we will be offering tips and tricks to help you be successful with that week's block.  You are welcome to sew along with us each week or make the blocks at your own pace!  There will be weekly link-ups and chances to win great sponsor prizes for each block you finish in a given week.

The Book Club: Hand Pieced QAL pattern download package will come in 3 parts:

• All the instructions for each of the QAL blocks and final quilt top settings
• All the templates for each QAL block
• Coloring page for each quilt top setting

The pattern will feature 9 unique blocks each which finish at 9'' and will offer 2 settings - a wall hanging or a throw sized quilt.  Quilt top fabric requirements are shown below.  More information on backing and binding fabric requirements will be in the pattern.

Each block will feature a pattern page with step by step piecing instructions plus a page of templates for that block.  If the pieces can be cut by a rotary cutter - like the example shown - the measurements for each of the pieces are also given.   (Never used templates before?  A tutorial on templates will be available on March 9.)

One Monthly Goal March Link-up

Welcome to March!  There were 111 people who joined the link up last month - let's see what this month brings.
