I love a good foundation paper piecing project. When Audrey @cottonandburbon released her latest pattern, she put all her patterns on sale so I bought a copy of Mobius Radial pattern - see a version of the finished wall hanging.
My background fabric will be the blue - Paintbrush Studios Colonial Blue - with white as the accent. The pattern is assembled by taping lots of paper together but I was able to sew through the tape just fine. Removal of the papers should be easy (although tedious!) because they are just strips.
Now off to make the second half which swaps the location of the blues and white. After that, assembly which will involve an inset circle and partial seams - quite the adventure awaits!
Great color choices. I look forward to seeing it come together for you!
ReplyDeleteQuite the adventure, indeed! Courageous is what I say!
ReplyDeleteI like paper piecing too. This design looks very intricate! And I like the colors you picked. PP Colonial Blue is a nice color change that will give a dramatic result.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool and pretty block. 'Not sure if my minimal paper piecing skills are up to that lol. The blue fabric is really nice too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to her comments on the quilting. That is quite adventurous, and I'm interested to see how you quilt it.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a cool pattern! :)
ReplyDeleteI always find her quilts ambitious - might be because I dislike and can't sew curves ;) - so good luck! I am sure it will look awesome. Minimal, modern and intriguing. xo
