Hand Pieced QAL - The Blue Quilt

Tomorrow - April 30 - is the last day to link up finished quilt tops to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for the Hand Pieced QAL!

I finished my second quilt top this weekend, opting to go with a thin 2'' border instead of the other options debated.  Basically, the deciding factor was the size of the wall where I wanted to display the quilt!

It was a lot of fun to make a 2 color version.  I will be hand quilting this one and intend to just enjoy the process.

I like how some of the spun seams show up on the back!

There are over 70 quilt tops entered into the grand prize drawing - can't wait to see the last finishes!

Thanks to my wonderful co-host Kristin from Simple Handmade Everyday for making this QAL extra special!

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  1. Oh I love the blues and whites!

  2. Patty, your blue and white hand-pieced quilt top is so pretty! I love how you made the blue the background color. The QAL definitely hooked me on hand-piecing so I started another one! This one will also be blue and white, although not solids, just scraps from my stash. Thanks, again, for the learning and inspiration!

  3. I was curious what you would decide. Letting the wall dictate the final size is smart (rather than finding out after the fact it's too large)!

  4. It really turned out wonderful! I too love that blue as the background. Nice to see so many enjoying hand piecing.

  5. I really like this two-colour version. That's amazing so many quilts have been linked up.

  6. Love the blue and white. Hand quilting would be so perfect for this one. Have fun!

  7. It looks awesome in two colors So glad to see so many link ups. The variety is endless

Thanks for visiting Elm Street Quilts. Looking forward to hearing from you!
