It's official. I'm officially collecting rainbow fabric and thread.
First up - no plan yet for this charm pack and set of perle cotton. For now, I will enjoy just looking at it.
Alison Glass's latest line - Sun Print 2018 - was just calling my name when I went into my local fabric store. I ended up buying 4 yards - 6'' each of every color. (Yes, this store is awesome - they sell by the inch!)
What can you do with a 6'' cut? Well, that's wide enough to cut a 5 1/2'' square for making 4-at-a-time flying geese. It also works perfectly to cut squares to make 2 1/2'' HST.
I'll be playing more with this fabric at an upcoming guild retreat. So fun!
Have a wonderful day!
Patty
Six is a great number because it's easily divisible by 1, 2, and 3. So much more useful than a 5" charm.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for rainbow color schemes too. Love those brights with the dark gray.
ReplyDeleteName of your quilt shop please. Sounds like fun and not too far from Raleigh.
ReplyDeleteLove your fabrics.
That looks the perfect fabric to bring cheer to the rather dreary weather lately, love the grey with them :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting quilt shop----Name? Near Raleigh/Durham???
ReplyDeleteThanks for shearing
Ellie, Cary Quilting is the shop. I am so lucky to have this store so close!
DeleteBeautiful rainbows!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful color finds. Can't wait to see what you create with them.
ReplyDeleteRainbow is so much fun. We can buy 0.1 metre and any increment right up to 1 metre. It's awesome -- you only need to buy what you actually need.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is unusual to sell by the inch! Love what you bought! Rainbows are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing to have a shop which sells by the inch, here it's usually a minimum cut of a quarter meter, a fraction under 10 inches. One of my local shops sells in 10 cm increments though, but I can't so a lot with just under four inches and it is a waste buying four to cut 2 1/2. I love a rainbow and I especially love AG fabrics, pretty pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose colors are stunning! I can't believe your quilt shop lets you buy the inch. That's awesome. (They should all do that.)
