repeat QAL - Planning your quilt

The first pattern for the repeat QAL will be available on Monday, June 13.   I am so excited by all the positive response and can't wait to share the patterns each week!

Earlier this week, I posted the fabric requirements for a couple of different sets of coloring options. Want to play around with color placement before you cut any fabric?   Download the coloring page and have fun with pencils, markers or crayons!

(If you are a member of the Elm Street Quilts QAL Facebook group, you can also find this coloring page in the Files section.)

Each week, I'll release the patterns for a group of letters - first up is the pattern for the letter e.  (See the full schedule here.)
Coloring option 3

If you are making the letters from yardage and using the same fabric for the outer border as some of the letters, you can save some fabric by cutting out the outer borders first and then use those extra bits of fabric for the letters.  Likewise, cut the inner borders from your background fabric an use the extra with your letters!  (The middle border is wide enough for the extra to be of use.)

All the border measurements will be available with the finishing instructions but here the measurements just for the outer border (red in this image) and the inner border (white in this image) so you can cut them ahead if that works for your coloring option.

  2. If possible I'd really like to "get" the entire alphabet to spell out my grandchildren's names but first I'd like to do the quilt along and see how I do making these letters
