Skill Builder QAL - Large HST blocks

Hurrah!  It is month 7 in Fat Quarter Shop's Bella Skill Builder QAL.https://blog.fatquartershop.com/2017/08/bella-skillbuilder-quilt-month-7.html     You can find the pattern and a video tutorial for this month's Large HST blocks here.

I choose my favorite color combinations to make these large blocks.  Aren't they just wonderful?

The large one is 18 1/2 '' square, all from fun HST's!  I just love the star in the center of the 15 1/2 '' block.

I need to gather together all my blocks for a group photo - can't wait to see this quilt come together.

Until the group photo, you can see posts of the rest of my blocks by following the links below:

One Monthly Goal - August Goal Setting Link Up

Welcome to August!

New to One Monthly Goal?  Welcome!  You can read about the event and the rules on the main event page.

Sign up to receive email notifications when the One Monthly Goal linkup is open.  Think of it as a helpful reminder!
My goal for August is to make a mini quilt or pillow from my sweet animal blocks.  These were designed by Juliet from The Tartankiwi and part of her Woodland 2 QAL.  (Juliet was the OMG designer sponsor for January.)

We have three great sponsors for August and there will be three (3) winners this month!

Fat Quarter Shop offers a tremendous selection of fabric, notions, books and just about anything you will need for your project. Consider their Sew Sampler box to receive a monthly surprise delivery of fabric and fun.   Fat Quarter Shop is offering a $25 gift certificate to one lucky participant.

Family owned and operated. Clothworks produces outstanding quality fabric for quilters and sewists who love to create.  Clothworks produces a variety of fun fabric lines, including my favorite American Made Brand Solids. Check out their site and sign up for their newsletter to be the first to know about new lines.  Clothworks is offering 10'' precut of Full Spectrum Fresh Batik fabric.

I'm very excited to introduce you to our designer of the month - Amber Johnson of Gigi's Thimble.

Amber has two children, one sweet dog and a wonderful husband.  She resides in Alpine, Utah and loves to decorate, hike and bake in her spare time.  She has been quilting for almost 20 years and designing quilt patterns for 8 years.  Amber sells over 25 different quilt patterns (plus her book, Vintage Vibe: Traditional Quilts, Fresh Fabrics) in her shop Etsy shop.  She shares all of her creations on her blog, A Little Bit Biased.

Her latest venture, is designing free fat quarter patterns with her friend Amanda Niederhauser, which are published monthly on her blog in a series called, Five Fat Quarter Fun.

You can visit Amber on her BlogInstagram,  Facebook and her pattern store on Etsy.  Amber is offering a $25 gift certificate to her pattern store for one lucky winner.

Now it is your turn to link up - what is your goal for August?  (A goal could be to finish a quilt but it could also be to attach a binding.  Whatever it takes to help you move forward and make progress on your projects!  And as long as the project involves a needle and/or fabric, you can link up!)

Make sure you visit the One Monthly Goal event page for the specific requirements for links and social tags.

And remember, to be eligible for the prize(s) by random drawing you must linkup at both the goal setting and the accomplishment linkup in a given month.   (The One Monthly Goal accomplishment linkup will be available on August 25.)

Make sure you add a link to this OMG post so others can follow where you are linking.   Let's make that easy -  just paste this into your post:

Thanks for linking up!

Have a wonderful day! Patty

Announcing Bag It 2017

I am very excited to announce that Bag It is returning and I'll be hosting the THIRD annual event.

Bag It 2017 promises to be even more exciting that last year - if that is possible!  New tutorials to inspire from Elm Street Quilts will be shared along with bags made from patterns from our featured designers.

The Bag It 2017 event will begin on Monday, September 18 and run through Friday, December 15. During the event time period, participants are encouraged to make bags and share in link-ups or share in the Elm Street Quilts Facebook Group page.

Amazing sponsors have lined up to support us with just wonderful prizes.  I just can't wait to share the details.  (Prizes will be randomly awarded to participants.)

To enter, you can make and share a bag from ANY PATTERN or TUTORIAL.  Extra credit will be given to bags from patterns or tutorials from our featured designers - byAnnie, Sew Sweetness, Sew Demented, Fat Quarter Gypsy and Elm Street Quilts.

And for the event, we will define a bag as a container made of fabric that you can put something inside.
