Discovered Cross-stitch Projects

Before my quilting addiction began, I was very much into counted cross-stitch. I made many projects - finishing most of them and hung them in my home or gave as gifts. Recently when sorting out a closet, I found 4 cross-stitch kits which were purchased almost 20 years ago - each for $8!

Almost twenty years ago!

They were purchased during a trip to the Wright Brothers National Park in Kitty Hawk, NC. (I've got photos at this park where my kids are quite young.) At some point, I completed the work on one lighthouse - the Currituck lighthouse which is in Corolla, NC.

When we were at the beach early May, I started the work on the Hatteras lighthouse which is located in Buxton, NC. and I hope to finish it this summer.

The kits contained everything one needed, including the needle. Matching up the thread strand with the right color name was quite difficult so I may have taken a bit of liberty with what thread color is used where!

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  1. Cross stitch is something I did in the past too, but alas I can't see the small count fabric as well any more, though I did discover one I wanted to do recently, that I've had for many years. I also found a finished one that I've just had framed. Enjoy slow stitching, have a lovely weekend & take care. Hugs.

  2. I started my first cross stitch and it sits. I think it deserves summertime on the porch, so I will spend time out there enjoying summer and stitching!

  3. I just drove by the Hatteras light house 2 weeks ago! Beach memories are the best.
