3 Woodland Animals

Meet the Hedgehog!

The block will finish at 9''.  He joins his other two buddies from  The Tartankiwi's latest QAL called Woodland Creature 2.

Next up is a  lovely fawn.  (We had two little deer in our back yard a few times recently - very cute except when they are munching on my garden.)

I am still not sure what I am going to do with these blocks.  Perhaps quilt them as individual minis? Perhaps a table runner?  Or maybe group all 4 of them together into a mini quilt.  The group mini quilt is what I've been thinking with a layout like the photo below.

I would use a blue background for the fawn and he would be facing the Kingfisher.  (Juliet's pattern has options on which way you want your woodland animal to face!)

Any thoughts for me on this?

I'll be linking up my blocks with  Freemotion by the River,   WIP Wednesday's,  Let's Bee SocialMidweek Makers.  Needle and Thread Thursdays, Finish it Up Friday and Finished or Not Friday.

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  1. Hi Patty,
That darn otter speaks to me every time I look at him! I might need to make him for some unknown reason. The hedgehog is adorbs too - he looks like he's peeking around something and is surprise to see us. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Darn they are cute. Maybe sash them and border to make them more of a wall hanging. How big are the blocks?

  5. I think a mini quilt sounds like a great idea for this sweet grouping. I like how the arrangement you think would have the blue and green backgrounds at angles to one another.

  10. He's so cute! I love these woodland patterns. I think the 4 together as a mini would look great, and the fawn will be beautiful with a blue background. Have fun!
