Large Square in a Square Crochet Project Update

And now there are 3.

My vision for my blanket project is to make 4 large granny squares using cream and gold yarn. I purchased 6 skeins of each color from Purl Soho with a goal of using 3 skeins on each block. 

At this point, there are 3 partially completed blocks. One measures ~26" with 28 rows. And the other two measure ~18" with 22/23 rows. The next step is to get all the squares to be 28 rows and then start the final one. So far, I've not used all of the 3 skein allotment on each square because I need to make sure there is enough yarn leftover to join the blocks and add a finishing edge.
