Celebration of My QuiltCon 2027 Entries

With QuiltCon submission behind us (whew!), I wanted to share a sneak peak of the five quilts I submitted to the show. While each quilt brought its own set of challenges, I am very proud of my work and want to celebrate my submissions!

From left to right:

  • Welcome to Orbit City! was entered into Bee/Group Quilts. My prompt to my Quilts Unscripted bee mates was based on an animation cell from the Jetson's. You can read more about the process on this post from September. So much fun to assemble - the colors brought me joy.
  • 1 1 2 3 5 8 was entered but not accepted into QC2026 in the fabric challenge. It is my first quilt that was entirely hand quilted so I decided to give another try at QuiltCon. Read more about the quilt here.
  • Freestyle was entered into the Scrappy Color challenge. Inspiration for the quilt comes from my daily morning lap swim.
  • Happy Dance was entered but not accepted into Improv om QC2-26 and I thought it deserved another chance. This quilt was such fun to make. The bright colors make me happy. Read more about the quilt here.
  • Event Horizon was entered into the Fabric Challenge. It features a mix of walking foot quilting and hand quilting. An event horizon is the boundary marking the outer limits of a black hole and is often depicted in images in shades of oranges and reds. Anything that crosses this boundary is trapped forever inside the black hole.

I'll post more information about these quilts soon. Until then, fingers crossed that some of my quilts will hang in the show in Atlanta. Congratulations and good luck to everyone who submitted!

Have a wonderful day! Patty
