The Happiness Tree

Remember my tiny piecing project?

And my lines and lines of quilting?

The quilt is done!   And I named it The Happiness Tree.

It was really hard to capture the right color balance of the blue background - you might notice that it is different in each of these 3 photos.  The photo below is the best representation of color.  You can also see a closeup of my quilting and tiny piecing!

These stripes are roughly all less than 1/4'' - many of them truly measure 1/8''!

The Happiness Tree is my entry for the QuiltCon stripes challenge.

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  1. It looks great, Patty! Congratulations! I love the contrast between those minuscule pieced stripes and the vastness of the blue background fabric. It reminds me of how small I feel when I stand at the shore of the ocean with my toes in the foamy fringes of the waves, looking out to where the water meets the skyline at the horizon.

  2. I really like the shape of the trunk of the tree and it reminds my husband of a fern tree with their curled up fiddle heads. Congratulations on getting all that quilting completed; it looks fantastic! How big did the quilt finish?

  4. Your tree is happy with all of those colours. Thanks for the closeups of your quilting. So very effective! I also love the way the blue pops the rainbow colours.
