Many, many years ago, I bonded with an on-line quilting friend over our shared love of Sweetwater fabric. I wanted to send a gift her way and built the design around Sweetwater fabric, her favorite color (yellow) and her favorite block (churn dash.)
I had a mini-charm pack of Sweetwater's Noteworthy in my stash which made for the perfect pillow! I even had some yellow yardage from that line which made for the perfect pillow back.
The pillow is 12 x 20'' and I used my own tutorial on installing a zipper into a pillow back. I added a bit of texty fabric (also a shared favorite) to give it a bit of a pop!
The pillow looked darn nice on my couch and I'm hoping it looks even better on hers!
I'll be linking up my pillow with Freemotion by the River, WIP Wednesday's, Let's Bee Social, Midweek Makers. Needle and Thread Thursdays, Finish it Up Friday and Finished or Not Friday.
Have a wonderful day! Patty
How sweet! She will cherish it.

ReplyDeleteLucky friend...she is going to love this pillow!
ReplyDeleteHoly Heck Hermione I want a couple pillows just like this. I already have pillow forms in my closet that will work. Too bad my sewing room is all uprooted for a couple more weeks. .
ReplyDeleteHoly Heck Hermione. Off Center Churn dashes. This pattern would look so good on the pillow forms in my closet. I may borrow your idea. Thanks for the great inspiration
ReplyDeleteA very pretty gift!
ReplyDeleteOooh, thank you so much for this beautiful gift :) It does look mighty fine on my couch though I am naughty and tardy in a blog showing that fact! I so appreciate you taking the time to sew for me and share your great talents and I am glad to know there is a tutorial on that zipper...I love this pillow so much. It has been a great comfort to me, literally physically as well as emotionally...thank you my friend!
ReplyDeleteThat pillow is so pretty! I have to try making a different shape pillow as I usually do square. Thanks for the inspiration.
