Is it fall yet?

(Click here to find the August One Monthly Goal Finish link-up)

I'm really not in any hurry for fall to arrive.

I'm happy with summer.  I love my morning swim and I'm not excited to be approaching the end of the swimming season.

But I saw candy corn in Target*.  That means it is officially (almost) fall**.

I wanted to make a small table runner / mini quilt to celebrate Fall.  I do this every year.  I've quite the collection of pumpkin fabrics and a seemingly bottomless plastic bin of fall themed fabric.

I fashioned the pumpkins from my Harvest pattern.  The body of each pumpkin was made with a charm square.

Making a pumpkin quilt was the August challenge for Mini's and More hosted by Sherri and Michelle.

* I did not buy the candy corn.  This doesn't mean, however, that I won't buy the candy corn next time I go to Target.  And I usually go to Target weekly.

** The candy corn might have actually been available for a few weeks.  Despite the fact that I usually go weekly, I've been busy enjoying summer and haven't been shopping.

I'll be linking up my quilt with  Freemotion by the River,   WIP Wednesday's,  Let's Bee SocialMidweek Makers.  Needle and Thread Thursdays, Finish it Up Friday and Finished or Not Friday.

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  3. It's usually the over-scented smell of cinnamon at my local grocery store that starts me thinking about fall (and way earlier than I would like, too). The table runner looks great!

  5. I am so ready for fall! There has been no rain in my part of the world since June. The temps have been in the upper 90's to lower 100's nearly everyday. It is hot, dry, smokey, and a big fire risk parched land! Bring on those cooler temps!

Cute little table runner! The pumpkins do set the mood!

  7. Hi Patty,
I love candy corn! It was one of my mom's favorite candies but she hated the solid pumpkins so I always ate them for her. Nice memory! Your table runner is very nice - I like the fabrics you chose for the pumpkins. ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. Fall means reprieve for me with the heat, of that I am grateful! We have had unusually hot weather going on here, and I moved here because it's generally cooler...best laid plans, as "they" say.
I need to get on with my fall sewing. Lately though, there has been no sewing. I have just been bestowed a five year old (step) grandson, who I adore beyond adoring, and I just got a new puppy. As soon as school starts for the little man, I will have a schedule, and I can resume sewing! YAY!!!

  10. I like your little pieced pumpkins. I, on the other hand, have very little fall fabric. I just made a table runner aka cubicle cover
