A Bear in The Woods

(Looking for my NC row?  you can find it here!)

My local quilt store - Cary Quilting Company - have two rows available for this year's quilt shops Row by Row experience.  My daughter and I each picked up a row and I combined them to get this awesome applique.

I love, love the bear!  His eyes and his heart shaped nose are so cute.

This will be a center of a small baby sized quilt and is currently  20 '' square.   My plan is to surround this center with trees.

I learned a new (to me) feature in EQ7 that allowed me to bring in a photo into a quilt design.  This allowed me to conceptually sketch out what I am planning.

The layout of the final trees will be different but this gives you an idea.

Finishing the quilt top - which essentially means paper piecing all these trees - is my October goal.  I'll be linking up here @ Red Letter Quilts for OMG (one monthly goal).

Have a wonderful day! Patty

  8. The trees are a perfect frame! I am not big on paper piecing, but those look very worthwhile! So so cute:)
